One thing that battery companies don't want you to know is that "dead" batteries can easily be restored to 100% working condition quite easily.
New batteries are certainly not cheap! Why throw out old camcorder batteries when you can make them work again 100% for a fraction of the cost. As a benefit you're also helping the environment because those harmful chemicals are kept out of a landfill
One thing that many people assume is the fact that this is hard. I can tell you that it's in fact incredibly easy because I've been teaching people how to reconditiong laptop batteries for awhile now and they tell me they think it's really easy.
The type of dell battery such as dell Latitude D800 battery, dell Inspiron 8500 battery, dell 8N544 battery, dell Inspiron 8600 battery, Dell Precision M60 battery, dell Inspiron 6400 battery, dell Inspiron E1505 battery, dell Inspiron 1501 battery, dell GD761 battery, dell KD476 battery and dell TD347 battery doesn't matter either. Nearly all types of batteries can be reconditioned.
Before you begin to recondition your dead batteries you need to make sure you have the right tools and instructions.
Insert the battery into the laptop. Plug the laptop in and allow the battery to fully charge (the battery indicator light turns off on most laptops when the battery is completely charged). Restart the computer.
Disable hibernation temporarily. In Windows XP for example, click "Start" in the task bar, then click on "Control Panel," and then "Power Options." Select the "Hibernate" tab then uncheck "Enable Hibernation." Click "OK" to save the settings.
I say this because when I was looking for information on how to recondition dead battery all the guides I found were very innacccurate and they were all missing some crucial information!
Discharge the battery. In Windows XP for example, click on "Control Panel," "Performance and Maintenance," "Power Options," and then "Power Schemes." Make a note of the settings under the "Plugged In" and "Running on Batteries" columns so you can reset them later.
