Are you one of the 57% of women who orgasms when they have sex with their partner? Or are you part of the 43% who just carries along with life, not orgasming, not enjoying the sex you have, lying lifelessly on the bed without any prospect of pleasure? The O-Shot has been a beacon of hope for many women. But is it really all it's cracked up to be? We investigated to see if the injection was worth the $1,000 dollar price tag.

Shot. The Daily Mail spoke with Dr. Sharif Wakil, who says he personally has given the O-Shot to 2,000 women. Women have many different reasons for getting the shot, or even considering it, which he discussed with The Independent. He noted first that time changes the human body, as we all know. The clitoris is not excluded from these changes.

Changes. “As we grow older,” The Daily Mail reports him saying to The Independent, “our sights get impaired so we wear glasses, our hearing might get weaker so we wear hearing aids, this is no different. This is a part of the female body that sees a lot of changes through life: from delivery, menopause, hormonal changes, and aging.”

Does it work… It does work, but not in the same way for all. The Daily Mail reports that” only half of women experience almost immediate effects in their sexual lives, the others just have slight improvements.” The most important thing as far as most surgeons are concerned is that you approach this procedure with realistic expectations. This is not an end-all be-all cure.
Orgasm. According to the publication, “though many of his patients are now able to experience an orgasm through penetrative sex - something that only a quarter of women are believed able to do.” Dr. Wakil also notes that he has not seen any negative side effects in his patients as a result of administering the shot.

Practice. So Emily McCombs wrote about the process of actually having the O-Shot for Elite Daily. Wondering how it works? It uses your own blood! McCombs writes, “The O-shot is supposed to work by isolating plasma-rich platelets (PRP) from the blood, then injecting them back into the body, where the growth hormones within set to work rejuvenating the vagina, treating incontinence, looseness, dryness and lack of sensation.”

Numb. If you’re scared of the procedure because of the needle aspect, you wouldn’t even feel it. McCombs reports having several injections of Lidocaine so that the “area” was numb. The doctor said she’d feel the “tiniest pinch,” but she apparently didn’t feel anything. “As she’d promised, the procedure actually was completely painless. I didn’t feel anything except her fingers inside my vagina when she did the G-shot injection, which just felt like a regular gynecological exam,” McCombs writes.
Effects. There’s apparently no recovery time from the shot, as the doctor told her she could resume having sex immediately. So when it comes to orgasming after the shot, how does it feel? She explains, “It definitely seemed a little different, but I hadn’t gotten off for awhile before that, so I wasn’t totally sure it was the shot. And I felt the same way about the next few orgasms — yeah, they seemed a little different, but was it really the shot, or was this just an ‘I want to believe’ situation because I let someone put a needle in my vagina?”

But… McCombs explains that it took a little time to actually kick in! But once it did… wow. She writes, “By the third week, I started feeling much more sensation during sex. I was more quickly aroused, and it was much easier to orgasm once we got started. A few times I even got myself off with my hand during intercourse… Having an orgasm felt like tipping the ball into the hoop from the rim gently, as opposed to shooting a 3-point shot from half-court. And the orgasms just seemed to get stronger and better, until they were lasting for what felt like minutes. (But were probably actually, like, 15 awesome seconds.)”

Comments. People in the comments section, of course, had something to say about the procedure and its alleged effects. Bill didn’t seem to trust that a hospital could execute this procedure. “Would YOU trust a hospital to take your blood, pump it into their (hopefully, but probably not sterile) equipment, then put it back into your body. I think I'd prefer picking my teeth with a syringe I picked up in a gutter,” he wrote on a piece by the Daily Mail.
Balls. User CathinScotland from the Highlands seemed to think the cure for your orgasm issues could be as simple as spending a few dollars at a sex shop. She wrote, “Yes, well - a pair of Ben Wan balls for £5 will achieve the same thing although it might take a few days. They won't tell you this, of course. It's all to do with the pelvic floor muscles ladies. Keep them in trim and you won't have any bother.”

Balls. Some of you may not be familiar with the concept of Ben Wa Balls. Tajahi talked about them for Your Tango. They certainly increase arousal for some women, but have many other positive benefits. Tajahi writes that they “strengthen your muscles to stop or hold the flow of urine, cause clitoral erection during sexual arousal, [and] support the bladder, uterus, and rectum.”

Trials… Bob Forsberg from Southern California didn’t seem to think the idea seemed too sound, at least while it was still being tested. Forsberg said, “$1,500 to draw a vial of blood, run it in a centrifuge and reinject part of it? I'd advise against anyone using any facility this lunatic is part of.....clinical trials pending…..” Userpete86 added, “I think the idea of a needle would eliminate the desire for me... though I wouldn't personally need an ‘O’ shot anyway :),” he said.
Lazy. Are women who consider this just plain lazy? That’s what user Music from Dallas wants to know. “People are becoming really just soooooo lazy. Really?!? You don't even want to do this for yourselves?” Brother Anthony claims to have found the solution, “The best aphrodisiac I know is real love for each other. Need all these add-ons ? Then I suspect its all physical and no romance.”

Laziness. When it comes to the problem some women are having, it isn’t just a matter of a lack of effort. Some women have really tried everything, from sex toys, to different positions. And they’ve been trying for years. Some women are literally just plain exhausted, which is where the O-Shot could alleviate some stress.
