Dell has announced a couple new laptop models today that are getting new Intel Core Solo 2 ULV CPUs to increase battery life and performance. We have seen one of the notebooks before when Dell first unveiled the 14z back in May 2009.

Today Dell has announced that the 15z and 14z are being updated with new features. The most notable new feature is the available ULV CPU with options for Core 2 and Core 2 Duo processors as well. Both laptop models are only an inch thick and have a wealth of options.

The 14z offers a 14-inch LCD, the 15z is a 15.6-inch notebook. Both models can have up to 500GB of storage, up to 8GB of RAM, and a choice of 4-cell or 6-cell batteries like Dell BAT-I3700 battery, dell 5081P battery, Dell Inspiron 3700 battery, Dell Precision M40 battery, Dell Precision M50 battery, dell Inspiron 700m battery, dell Inspiron 710m battery, dell F5136 battery, dell 312-0306 battery, dell 312-0305 battery. The 4-cell unit has a run time of four hours while the 6-cell offers 8-hours of use. Dell is also offering Express Charge 4 and 6-cell batteries that can recharge to 80% capacity in only an hour. The notebooks start at $599 and are available in America today.

Dell has unveiled a cool new notebook for what it calls its thin and powerful line of notebook computers. The new notebook is the Inspiron 14z and it can be had with several different options. The machine can be fitted with Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor options. It has a 14-inch HD resolution screen and promises impressive battery life to keep you working for a long time.

The 14z has SRS Premium Sound HD for better audio quality when you are watching movies or listening to your favorite music. Combined with the 1366 x 768 resolution screen the little notebook will make for a good entertainment PC that can work too. The 14z has Intel Wireless Display tech inside and it has an HDMI output so you can shoot video and other content out to a larger screen.

Dell uses the Windows 7 OS for the 14z line and the machine has on-processor graphics to help with battery life. The 14z will come in Diamond Black or Fire Red colors. It also has a USB 3.0 port, WiFi and an integrated memory card reader. Other hardware features include up to 8GB of RAM, up to 750GB of storage, and an internal tray-loading DVD drive that will burn CDs and DVDs as well. The notebook will ship later this month at Best Buy in the UK and will hit other locations in Europe and the UK later in the year.
