It’s no secret that the female orgasm is elusive. But not anymore. A new study has revealed how women can guarantee reaching climax between the sheets not just once or twice, but every single time. Um... Yes, please. Read on below to find out more.

The science of the orgasm. We’ve heard it before: Good sex is about the journey, not the destination. Blah, blah, blah. Well, we’re here to call bullsh*t. Sometimes, good sex is all about the destination — and just that. We mean, who doesn’t want to orgasm?

The science of the orgasm. Still, while getting to that final destination is definitely ah-mazing, we know that the female orgasm can be pretty difficult to attain — especially with a partner. It takes practice, after all. That said, reaching that big O isn’t impossible; rather, it’s far from it. In fact, research indicates that women can achieve endless Os by simply tweaking some of their sex moves.

The science of the orgasm. Published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior, a recent study found that women can reach orgasm by simply alternating their sex game in not one, not two, but three ways. What are these three ways, you ask? Be patient, ladies. We’ll get to that in due time. First, the study.
The science of the orgasm. For the study, researchers collected information via online survey from 52,000 (!) straight, gay, and bisexual men and women aged 18 to 65. As Women’s Health reports, the survey asked volunteers intimate questions about their sex lives, including how often they and their partner achieved climax in the bedroom. The participants then answered the questions on a scale of one (a.k.a. never) to five (a.k.a. always).

The science of the orgasm. Here’s where things get real interesting. To figure out which factors were associated with reaching orgasm, researchers asked the participants about how often they received oral sex and talked about the deed. In addition, the researchers also asked the group about how satisfied — or dissatisfied — they were with their relationship.

The science of the orgasm. So, what’d the researchers find? Namely, that straight, lesbian, and bisexual women who crossed that finish line every time were all: having more oral sex, engaging in romp sessions lasting more than 15 minutes, and asking for what they want in bed. But wait — there’s more.
The science of the orgasm. The researchers also found that ladies who orgasmed almost every time were all: praising their partner’s repertoire in the sack, sending or receiving sexts via text or phone call, rocking sexy lingerie, and trying new sex positions. Not to mention, these women were also all experimenting with butt play, expressing their fantasies, engaging in dirty talk, and experiencing more overall satisfaction with their relationship... No surprise there.

The science of the orgasm. Sounds… intense, to say the least. Like, do women have to do all of that just to orgasm every now and then in the bedroom? Fortunately, no, women do not have to do all of that just to experience a big O in the sack. That said, women do have to do some things — namely, three.

The science of the orgasm. According to study, all it took for 80 percent of straight women to orgasm every time was three things: oral sex, manual clitoral stimulation, and deep kissing. We think it’s worth pointing out how penetration did not make the cut. Figures.
The science of the orgasm. So, exactly why does these three tweaks have this orgasmic effect on women? Researchers aren’t sure. However, according to Women’s Health, one theory suggests that one of the reasons lesbians have more orgasms is because their sexy time is focused solely on pleasure and not making a baby. Makes sense.

The science of the orgasm. This isn’t the first time science has attempted to reveal the formula to orgasming in the bedroom. Back in 2015, a poll by Ann Summers answered the age-old question: How do ladies achieve a “perfect” orgasm every. single. time. In order to get to the bottom of it, the erotic retailer surveyed 1,000 women — and 600 men — to reveal their tried and tested methods.

The science of the orgasm. So, what’d the retailer conclude? For women: Having a glass of wine combined with foreplay, a vibrator, and a current long-term partner is the perfect way to orgasm. Fun fact: Twenty-five percent of the women polled reported stress as their biggest buzzkill between the sheets.
The science of the orgasm. And what of men? When it comes dudes, indulging in some adult films, having sex in two position (ideally doggy and cowgirl), using lube, and a long-term partner resulted in a guaranteed orgasm. Fun fact: Twenty-four percent of the men polled revealed that alcohol is their biggest buzzkill between the sheets. Hi, whiskey d*ck.

The science of the orgasm. Don’t have a long-term partner to get you off? No problem: While the person most likely to give you the best O is your ride-or-die, the survey also found that people are pretty darn good at pleasing themselves: Eighteen perfect of those polled said they were most likely to reach orgasm if they did it alone.

The science of the orgasm. The bottom line? While science has yet to draw an *exact* formula on how to reach orgasm every single time — no ifs, ands, or buts — it does seem like researchers are getting pretty damn close. Thanks, science. We appreciate you.
