It's not just a sexy premise for blockbuster action flicks, it's real life. Women have often been recruited throughout history as spies to help their countries during times of war. They use one of the strongest weapons in their arsenal to procure top secret and game-changing information. Why resort to methods of torture when you can simply use your womanly wiles? Men fall victim to women's sexual charms all the time, and these women are just a few examples of those who used their charms for their government. It's called sexpionage, and it still happens today.
Honey pot. The practice of a woman using her sexuality to lure important men to divulge secrets or for spying is referred to as a "honey pot" or a "honey trap." Commonly, it's also known as sexpionage. You may recognize the phrase "honey pot" if you managed to watch the highly controversial movie The Interview. The popular animated series "Archer" also frequently uses the term.
Sexuality as a weapon. People in power realized early on that men have a hard time resisting the call of a woman. It only seemed logical, therefore, to turn a woman's sexuality into a subtle weapon of war. Information can be critical in times of crisis, and extracting it takes a delicate, skilled hand. So women were utilized by governments of various countries to "seduce" certain international secrets out of the men who had them.

KGB. Russia's KGB is most notorious for relying on sexy female spies and sexpionage. While other nations are simply suspected of it, it has been confirmed with all certainty that the KGB employed this practice, and still does today.

Spy school. It is even suspected that the KGB goes so far as to create spy schools to formally train their female recruits for their line of work. If this is true, it is not just on a case to case basis that they recruit women as spies for the government, but a much more systemized practice.
Easy manipulation. While training for espionage certainly takes elite skill, sex is an easy way to manipulate. Think about how much you reveal to a lover versus the average person. Now think about how much you would reveal to a government trained lover who knew exactly how to weasel information out of you.

Ellen Rometsch. Ellen Rometsch was an East German spy in the 60s who successfully seduced none other than President John F. Kennedy. Of course, given JFK's history with affairs it probably wasn't all too difficult to sexually persuade the guy, but Rometsch got to the most powerful man in the world with relative ease. Of course, she was later discovered and deported, most likely with a good piece of the Kennedy fortune to keep quiet.

Illegals program. A lot of spies make their way into foreign countries through what is known as an "illegals program." These are a select few elite spies who work as intelligence operatives without diplomatic or other cover. They're supposed to be just that good at covering their tracks.
Anna Chapman. One such person who was recently found out to be part of the illegals program within the KGB is a woman named Anna Chapman. Obviously stunning, Chapman was eventually deported from the United States back to Russia after being arrested, where she is now a TV personality. Go figure.

Katia Zatuliveter. Katia was accused of spying on the British House of Commons and seducing British politician Mike Hancock, who at one point took her on as his assistant. The M15 accused the Russian woman of being a KGB hire.

Floriana Jucan. The Romanian woman was operating under the cover of being a journalist, but she was presumed to be a spy who ended up seducing a Swiss diplomat. The diplomat in question, Jean-Pierre Vettovaglia, was fired from his position.
Noor Inayat Khan. She was an Indian woman and British citizen who turned secret agent during World War II. She worked as a radio operator in occupied Paris when the Nazis took over and she worked tirelessly as a trained spy. She was caught by the Nazis, escaped, classified as "highly dangerous, and captured again and then executed.
Violetta Seina. Violetta was a Soviet woman who seduced a U.S. marine back in the 80s. She reportedly seduced a Sergeant Lonetree, who ended up repeatedly letting Soviet agents into the U.S. embassy at night to inspect top secret areas. What are your thoughts on all of this?
