I’m In Love With My Sister

Genetic Sexual Attraction is the condition where a person is sexually attracted to a close relative they’ve met as adults. For some people however, the attraction to a relative, oftentimes a sibling, comes at an early age. It might not be something you want to think about, but brothers and sisters sometimes share an attraction. Discovery. Tom discovered that he was in love with his sister Lena from a young age, when he would watch her get dressed from outside of her room.

Feelings. Tom thought something was wrong with him, and fought his hardest to keep his feelings form resurfacing, but to no avail. He began to see how real his feelings were for his sister when she began dating, and he grew increasingly jealous, reports Vice.

Jealousy. "That was hell for me. I hated each one of her boyfriend’s guts. Lena used to cry because I wouldn’t get on with them. Today, I know that is was pure jealousy,” says Tom, as reported by Vice.

Feelings. Then one night, Lena found out her boyfriend had been cheating on her, and went to Tom for consolation. In a moment of vulnerability, Lena kissed Tom. Confused, Tom pushed her away, but in the days that followed, began to realize Lena had been having the same feelings for Tom as he’d been having for her.

Clear. "It became clear to me that Lena and I were always flirting. I always used to take it as a joke but it couldn’t have been. All these strange situations suddenly became crystal clear,” says Tom, as reported by Vice.

Crime. As their relationship progressed, Tom realized that the relationship he had with his sister could land them both in prison. Afraid that people would criticize them for their relationship, or worse be arrested, the couple moved far from their relatives.

Birth. Lena eventually became pregnant, and on the birth certificate, declared that the father of the child was unknown because they couple didn’t want to risk being caught.

Risk. "We didn't want to risk anything. There's no way I'll let them put me in prison and take me away from my family,” says Tom, as reported by Vice.

Confession. Another man writes anonymously via Secret Confessions about his secret feelings for his sister. Unlike Tom, this man’s sister has no idea the way he feels.

Bond. "Strangely, I felt a very strong bond with her that I had never felt with anyone before or since and I wanted to be around her as often as possible. We never did anything inappropriate with one another and at that time intimate thoughts about my sister had never even crossed my mind. I simply enjoyed her presence and her company."

Thoughts. "When I was just a few months away from turning 24 I met an amazing, beautiful woman and left everything and everyone else, including my sister, behind. Over the past ten years, however, I was never able to keep my sister out of my thoughts,” writes anonymous, via Secret Confessions.

Suspicions. He would speak to his sister on the phone a few times over the years they were apart, and he always suspected that his girlfriend sensed that things between he and his sister were not what they seemed.

Reconnection. A few years later, he and his sister reconnected, and he realized his feelings for her were stronger than ever, but because he knows his love for her is inappropriate, he will never be able to tell her how she really feels.

Tension. "I have never told her how I truly feel about her and I probably never will. I know that if I did it would completely alienate her from me and would cause so much tension that it would be irreconcilable,” he writes, via Secret Confessions.
