Dell has added plenty of juice to its new Inspiron M101z laptop using AMD’s Athlon II Neo, a chip aimed at the market between cheap and cheerful netbooks and standard laptops.
With four vibrant shades and a brush steel (or brished steel effect) surround on the keyboard, this Inspiron M101z is one of those laptops that is all about looks but thankfully, starting from about €450, it doesn't have the price tag of those sexy brushed-everything aluminium corporate sub-notebooks.
And it doesn't have the puny computing power of a netbook: the choice of AMD Athlon Neo II single and dual core mobile processors with integrated ATi graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory and up to 320GB SATA hard drive, you're not getting a wimp.
It also has a slightly angled base and full-width ergonomic keyboard with raised individual keypads so it looks as though it would be good for comfortable wrists.
Added to this is has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, ISB Powershare to support sleep and charge and a 7-in-1 media card reader.
Size-wise this is an 11.6-incher and has a glossy HD WLED screen.
The initial Inspiron M101z will come with a six-cell battery like dell 312-0386 battery, dell PC764 battery, dell TD175 battery, dell Precision M65 battery, dell DF230 battery, dell Latitude D531 battery, dell Latitude D820 battery, dell Latitude D830 battery, dell MM165 battery, dell YD626 battery with the option of a nine cell coming later in the autumn.
