Unlike men, when woman orgasm, it isn’t always so obvious. In fact, some men don’t know the difference between a woman who is genuinely orgasming and a woman who is faking it. It’s not hard for a woman to fake it, and they may do it for a variety of reasons. So how can you tell the difference between a real and fake orgasm? Here, 15 men on Reddit share the telltale signs.

Bad habits. ”Depends on the position. And I don't want a girl who fakes it. I'd rather hear ‘I’m not going to come right now’ than have her fake it. If she fakes it, I just get reinforced doing things that don't work for her. You learn the best ways to please each individual. Faking just rewards the wrong behavior,” says Reddit user dreadfulRauw.

Lies. ”Sometimes you can tell, just like with verbal liars. Sometimes you can't, because the woman is good at it, the guy is bad at telling, or its just a new partner,” says Reddit user xieish.

Too sensitive. ”You can usually tell if it's genuine when they're too sensitive for more stimulation afterwards. Most women need to cool down a little just after they orgasm. That combined that with flushed skin, blown-out pupils, and erect nipples is a pretty good indication that she just came,” says Reddit user boolean_sledgehammer.
Variation. ”It depends on how well you know the person. If you've been sleeping with them for a while you should know them well enough to be able to tell. If you're having sex for the first time it would be pretty much impossible to tell unless they are really bad at faking it. There is so much variation in how the women I've been with act physically. One woman's reaction to an orgasm is how others have acted when they're just warming up,” says Reddit user no_reverse.

Beginning and end. ”It isn't how loud it is, but how it starts and stops. It isn't screaming as in screaming in pleasure, but rather talking in monotone really loudly. Also, when she uses words, you can tell that she is thinking about them from the inflection. She has admitted to my girlfriend, whom I live with, that she fakes it. I'd make a recording of it so you could hear how fake it is for yourself, but that would be creepy,” says Reddit user bockh.

Depends. ”Depends on the girl in my experience. I once had a girlfriend whose stomach would get all red, like it was blushing. You can't fake that. Other girls I've been with get really still instead of all the hoopla you'd expect. So, in a one night stand I don't think I'd be able to tell but the longer I know the girl, the better I can tell if she's faking or not,” says Reddit user desertsail912.
Reactions. ”I can definitely tell and its very easy too. if you f****** a girl and she has an orgasm her p**** will start contracting like crazy and she will physically stop you when she is done. if a girl is lying there and making all sorts of noise but her p**** isn't reacting and she is cool with you just f****** her till you are done then yeah she was probably faking it,” says Reddit user killer122.

Contractions. ”Sometimes. Other times I can be doubtful, but not sure if it was fake or real. Normally I look for the typical things, like contractions and general rythmic muscle movement in either the anus or the vagina, a flushed chest/face, etc., but I guess an orgasm doesn't always involve strong displays of these? So I can't always be sure whether it was real or not,” says Reddit user VikingFjorden.

b>Toes. ”You can watch their toes. If their toes curl, that means the orgasm is real. But of course that can be faked as well, but people do not generally focus on faking their toes,” says Reddit user damimrite786.
Twitches. ”Easily. Real orgasms make a girl twitch, spasm, and their eyes dilate. I've seen girls lose control to varying degrees and you really couldn't fake it,” says an anonymous Reddit user.

No signs. ”There's no definitive way of telling if someone is faking an orgasm or not. Not every woman gets wet or has her vaginal muscles contract noticeably when she orgasms, and even those that do can still have an orgasm without one of the aforementioned 'signs'. Squirting and orgasm are also not always synonymous (eg. it is possible to squirt without having an orgasm and vice-versa for some women). I find the best policy is to just be open and honest about sex with your partner(s) and trust that they will do the same with you,” says Reddit user my002.

Finishing. ”If I cum before she does, she will often fake an orgasm at the same time. She comes easily enough that I can either continue and finish her (I have no refractory period) or use other methods. I fake them sometimes too. Sometimes if we've been at it for a good while and it's clear neither of us will cum again easily, I'll fake one just to end it. That's usually after a few hours, though,” says Reddit user LorienWarden.
Can’t happen. ”You can't fake a real bodily function. left to it's own devices, it follows a rhythm that is difficult to reproduce on command. Sure, she can squeeze with it, but when it's real you can tell that she can't control it. Also, if your woman is willing to go to that level to fake it, you have a very dedicated and loving or neurotic and crazy girl,” says Reddit user project_twenty5oh1.

Bad job. ”Some of them are really bad at faking though. The girl whose room is next to mine is really bad at faking. I have no idea how her boyfriend can't tell when I can tell from the next room,” says an anonymous Reddit user.

Adult films. ”Have you ever watched [adult films]? It's kind of like that, except toned down a bit if you actually want your partner to believe you. And you probably would never know unless you had a) given them an orgasm before and b) knew them pretty darn well,” says Reddit user such_a_sin.
